Marine Power systems were asked to perform engine maintenance onboard the mussel barge Wakatere, during her routine docking period in Whangarei. Both Scania DI12 main engines required their rear crank seals to be replaced which involved removal of the gearboxes and flywheels in order to gain access.

The opportunity was also taken to perform routine maintenance on both Scania main engines and the Cummins 6CT auxiliary engine to ensure the continued reliability of the vessel.
