Marine Power Systems were asked to assist OEM technicians during a routine 6K hour service of four MAN Paxman 12VP185 diesel engines fitted to two naval patrol vessels. The service consisted of removal of turbo groups, intercoolers, aftercooler, oil cooler and heat exchanger, plus removal and inspection of 2 x cylinder heads and piston units per engine for Lloyds survey.

The service was concluded with a comprehensive sea trial where all engines were taken up to their full 2500 kW output. Marine Power Systems verified this performance by providing shaft power measurements throughout the trials.
