Marine Power Systems were tasked to perform an in-frame overhaul on the auxiliary engines fitted to San Aramand, a completely refitted Scampi trawler owned by Sanford ltd.
Work began on New Years day 2017 when most people were nursing hangovers, our technicians were busy at work! The cylinder liners and pistons were replaced with modern units whilst the cylinder heads were stripped, cleaned and serviced.
Finally the engine undertook a load trial to prove integrity of the repairs and to ‘run-in’ liners, rings and bearings. The ship proceeded to sea in April for a successful sea trial followed by being released for fishing duties.
